Priory Water 05/08/06
Another survey of the Small Red-Eyed Damselfly population on the reserve produced quite a surprise in terms of numbers present, 180+ males, 70 females, 63 coupled pairs most of which were ovipositing. These numbers may indicate that they are still on the move within the county and more insects are still arriving!Other species recorded were; Brown Hawker - 250+Southern Hawker - 3Migrant Hawker - 2Common Darter - 150+Ruddy Darter - 100+Emperor - 7Black-Tailed Skimmer - 50+Four-Spotted Chaser - 5Common Blue DamselflyBlue-Tailed DamselflyWhite-Legged DamselflyRed-Eyed DamselflyEmerald DamselflyBanded Demoiselle
