Report of SCARCE CHASER at Eyebrok Res, 16th June

From Alan and Eileen Fairbrother:

At Eyebrook this afternoon at aprox 15.30, we were to the north of where the book used to be at the gate when we saw on the hedge a female SCARCE CHASER. She sat there for a good three mins giving very good views enabling us to identify it well. Don't know if they have been reported there before or if this is a first. Sorry - had a camera in the boot but got over exited and forgot about it.

Probable Hairy Dragonfly in Birstall

An adult Dragonfly flew through my garden this evening at 6pm, bright sunny conditions. I'm pretty sure it was a male Hairy Dragonfly. Any suggestion they might be moving out to colonise new areas?
